About Mei Mei

A little about me ~

Hello! It's Mei, from happiest place on earth, Orlando!

I started crocheting at 14 during Covid since we were all stuck at home. I wanted to learn a new skill, besides endless Netflix and ice-cream binging, so I picked up a crochet hook and have spent the last 3 years teaching myself.

Due to rare diseases called SMAS, gastroparesis and nutcracker syndrome, this year I began online school and have ridden a tiresome roller coaster of tests and doctor visits. I bet you've never heard of these! Neither had we, and it took over a year to diagnose me.

On the upside, I have been provided with the flexibility to crochet more!

It has also become my form of therapy as I navigate this new reality, and I am excited to launch my online store! I am grateful to my ninja mother for helping me design an online format to share my passion.

Aside from crochet, my other two passions are travel and theatre. My travels have taken me to over 25 countries and most definately counting. I've been lucky enough to do some incredible things like speedboat under Tower Bridge in London, make wishes at the Trevi fountain in Rome, blow glass in Venice, bungee jump in Singapore, sleep in a bubble tree tent in the French Alps, walk the site of the first Olympics in Greece, and more!

My favorite memories include dogsledding in Alaska, viewing the blue and white beauty Santorini, and performing in the Phantom of the Opera theater in London!! Traveling doesn't have to be expensive if we budget right, and I wish to only grow richer in it.

Speaking of theater, I'm a huge Musical theatre fan and Broadway lover! I've been fortunate enough to do 19 musicals, from ages 6-16, my favorite roles being Elsa, Fiona, and Mary Poppins!

At 15, I had the opportunity to give Hugh Jackman a sketched portrait of his late father. He was in Music Man, performing with a fellow crocheter, the famous Sutton Foster! I gave her a few travel scissors and light up hooks! :)

He told me I was very talented and that I captured his spirit! Wolverine! I was on cloud 9! Another highlight was crocheting sushi for Daniel Radcliffe, who is a sushi lover! Both of these kind actors are definitely heroes you'd want to meet.

Thank you for supporting and reading about me. I'm not sure what the future holds, but I hope it includes a lot more travel, music, crochet, and teaching others to crochet as well.

All purchases support my health and travel journey!

Have a wonderful day!
